This week Leyland Artists member Stephen Watson presented a workshop where he demonstrated the techniques of creating stone and wood effects using methods of acrylic layering, shadowing and dry brushing. Stephen uses this method when painting some of his wood carvings and in this session the members got the opportunity to paint their on fairy door. It is said that, if you place one of these doors on your skirting board, the fairies can enter your house through the door at night and do all the housework while you sleep.
